Sept 2 - Early Rising

lnl2002

NOW, I feel like this is about to be a convention!

Good morning – well, good “continuation from one 22-hour day to the next.” Yes, indeed – I have been doing 19-22 hours days here, doing everything from talking to RNC leaders to moving with the press and talking to the delegates.

Believe it or not, “Hip Hop Republican” has quickly become lexicon among some within the convention. People want to know how in the world those terms fit together.

Before I go any further, I have to give props to Lindsay for saving the day. Through her heroic efforts, my camera never made it in the “lost and found” bin after I dropped it.

Thank you, Lindsay!

“Gotta love the hospitality of those folks up here in MinneSOW-ta:” (That’s how some natives pronounce the name of the state.)

Claudio got a nice ride down to do “Fox and Friends” at roughly 4:45 in the morning. That, of course, was after a night out on the town that got us back around, say, 2 in the morning? Nothing too grand, but just enough to have fun, laugh, make friends, and bid adieu. And, of course, enough to be tired in front of a nation full of people watching on Fox News.

Claudio was a guest on “The Takeaway” on NPR Radio this week. It is one of several NPR appearances the HHR team will make this week. All three of us will, at different times, do the Bloggers Roundtable for NPR. We will go down to Minnesota Public Radio, where they will host us during the show.

For now, Claudio rocks the mic down here on Radio Row. It’s not his first time. The future Harvard Law graduate (3rd year student this fall) is doing his thing, talking to the issues and getting good feedback. He’s only 23 and, ladies, he’s not married yet. Maybe this is the Republican version of Senator Barack Obama? At least one homeless guy in Minnesota thought so (as he looked for an autograph...)
