COMEDIAN BERNIE MAC DIES UNEXPECTEDLY

Bernie Mac, comedian and actor, passed away this morning in Chicago due to complications with pneumonia.  Wow!  This comes as a complete surprise.  He apparently suffered from sarcoidosis, an immune disorder that can make it difficult to breathe, inflame lymph nodes in the neck and chest, and cause ulcers to break out all over the skin.  According to his publicist, Mac's pneumonia and death was not related. 

I know people come and go, and as my mom used to say "out with the old in with the new", but it's always devastating to hear that a 50 year old spirited, seemingly healthy man, dies during the zenith of his life and/or career.  

My heart goes out to his family, friends and those he affected through his comedy.

he could be crude and funny. he could be clean and funny.  that's what made him so great to me.

props to him for taking in his sister's kid as well!

a long time ago, more than five years ago, I was listening to the radio and the disc jockeys were saying a lot of gossip, and one of the gossippers hinted that Mac had AIDS/HIV.The disc jockey (a local dj) and his friends did not say it, but the implication was there

I think this was around the time that Michael Jordan's wife was ready to divorce him.  Like really was going to split.   Were I gossip monger I would tell the names the dj's mentioned that Juanita accused him of fooling around w/.  

When I saw Ma in :"Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" I noticed his weight loss, and that rumor was still high on my mind.

I could have sworn I saw Mac in an interview and someone asked how was his health, he said fine.  

The tribune article says he's been in remission since 2005.  

It seems that disc jockey was ill informed about sarcoidosis; but from what I can gather,  he was informed about something.  

After the John Edwards flap this week, I have faith that media does not report things unless there is some grain of truth in  it.

The world is a little less funny right now. This was a truly unecpected thing, I read reports on the internet from his publicist saying that he was going to be ok, and that he was expected to pull through. I'm also very outraged that people would continually make lies saying that he had HIV/AIDS-people just need to stay out of other people's business. We have enough racist people saying things about african-americans to put each other down. RIP Bernie Mac, you were a true shining star, and will be missed.

This is a man who just lost his life now is not the time to bring up what he had, what he did, or who he may have gotten it from....what dissrespect for a human..

I pray for his family to find God in this time of healing and not hear the nastiness of gossip of the public.
